Sales Volume Of Imported Vehicles Of South Korea In February Were Up 33 Percent Year On Year

According to data released Thursday by the Korea Association of Imported Automobile Manufacturers, the number of newly registered imported passenger cars in February was 22,900, up 33.3 percent year on year and down 0.1 percent month-on-month. By brand, Mercedes-Benz topped the list for two months in a row with sales of 5,707 vehicles. It was followed by BMW (5,660), Audi (2,362), Volkswagen (1,783), Volvo (1,202) and Porsche (912). Sales of European cars were 19,098 units, up 47.4% year on year. In contrast, sales of Japanese (1,311) and American (1,881) cars fell 20.6 percent and 11.2 percent, respectively, year on year.
